How do I register with Gearrilla?

Just click on “Register” on the top of the website and sign up with your email address and a secure password. We'll send you an email with a link to confirm your account. Click on it to complete your registration. Please note that you have to be at least 18 years old to be able to lend equipment on our website.

Do I have to pay for the registration?

No, the registration on www.gearrilla.com is completely free.

How do I find gear?

Search specifically for gear by entering a search term and selecting the desired period and location. You can always change your search criteria on the following pages.

How do I rent gear?

Please note that renting of gear is available only to registered users. Once registered, depending on gear settings, you can either send a booking request or book immediately the gear you are interested in. The next step is the payment, and once your payment has been authorised, your booking is completed. All bookings can be viewed in the section “My Bookings" in your account.

When do I pay for the gear I’ve booked?

You will pay for the gear on the booking payment checkout page. Once the booking is completed you should receive a confirmation email.

What is the Gearrilla service fee?

To help operate the Gearrilla platform, we charge a service fee of 25% to lenders and renters when a booking is confirmed. The service fee covers the host service, handling costs, insurance and credit card processing fee.

How do I get the gear I booked?

Depending on gear settings, there are two ways to get the gear:

  • You can collect it directly at the lender’s place.
  • You can get it shipped to your place.
Who will pay the shipping costs?

If your gear is shipped, then the costs are split as follows:

  • The lender is responsible for the shipping costs to you
  • You as the renter are responsible for the costs for the return shipment
What happens if gear is damaged or stolen during the rental period?

You will take full responsibility for the rented gear during the rental period. If the gear is damaged or stolen, you either bear the the cost of repair, or reimburse the time value of the respective item. In certain cases such damages may be covered by your private liability insurance, so please check it with your insurance company upfront before booking gear.

If you as a renter are still unable to pay for the damage, Gearrilla steps in – The Gearrilla Guarantee. See our Terms and Conditions and Insurance Policy of www.gearrilla.com . However, we reserve the right to take legal action against the respective renter.

What happens if I as a tenant will have an accident with the respective gear or if I get injured?

By renting gear you take full responsibility for it during the rental period and bear the full risk of its use. Therefore you are obliged to check the respective gear before using it. The statutory legal provisions apply.

Can I cancel my bookings?

Yes, you can cancel your booking in the corresponding section in your personal account:

  • If you cancel your booking up to 28 days before the start date, you will receive 75% of the total amount back. The lender will receive the rest of the amount minus the Gearrilla service fee of 25%, including the statutory VAT.
  • If you cancel your booking within 28 days before the start date, you will not receive a refund.The lender will receive the total amount minus the Gearrilla commission of 25%, including the statutory VAT.
Can the lender cancel an order?

Yes, the lender has the right to cancel the order for rental in the corresponding section in his personal account bearing a €15 cancellation fee.

Can I get in contact with the lender?

You are able to get in contact with the lender only if you are collecting the equipment. If you have any issues, please get in contact with us at contact@gearrilla.com.
