How do I register on Gearrilla?

Just click on “Register” on the top of the website and sign up with your email address and a secure password. We'll send you an email with a link to confirm your account. Click on it to complete your registration. Please note that you have to be at least 18 years old to be able to lend equipment on our website.

Do I have to pay for the registration?

No, the registration on www.gearrilla.com is completely free.

Do I have to pay to list my gear on the website?

No, listing of gear on www.gearrilla.com is free as well.

Why do I need to get verified?

It is all about trust. We want to build a safe community based on trust and therefore ask you to cooperate and confirm your identity by providing your bank account details, bank statement and ID. Please rest assured that your information is in safe hands and well protected.

How do I post my gear?

Start by clicking on “Add your equipment” and filling out all the necessary fields. Make your gear real - describe it as detailed as possible (stating defects as well) and provide good photos. This will significantly raise the chances of your gear to get rented. You can view, edit or delete your gear anytime under “My gear“.

How do I set the price for my gear?

You are naturally free to choose the price as you see fit; however, please bear in mind that to make your gear popular and competitive, it is best to orientate yourself at the usual rental prices. So do your research and don’t forget to offer a discount for long rental periods!

How does the payment process work?

All payment will be made via Adyen B.V., Simon Carmiggelstraat 6-50, 1011 DJ Amsterdam, Niederlande (www.adyen.com). You will be paid monthly on the first day of each month for the outstanding balance on your account. Your account needs to be verified before the payout can be completed.

What is the Gearrilla service fee?

To help operate the Gearrilla platform, we charge a service fee of 25% to lenders and renters when a booking is confirmed. The service fee covers the host service, handling costs, insurance and credit card processing fee.

Can I choose whether my equipment is shipped or collected?

Yes, when adding gear you will be given the following options:

  • This item can be shipped
  • This item can be collected
  • (You are able to select both of these options)

If you allow your gear to be shipped, your gear will be blocked automatically for three days prior and three days after the rental period to ensure that there is enough time for shipping

If you allow your gear to be collected, your gear will be blocked only for the rental period and it can be booked again on the next day.

Who will pay the shipping costs?

If your gear is shipped, then the costs are split as follows:

  • You as a lender are responsible for the shipping costs to the renter
  • The renter is responsible for the costs for the return shipment
What happens if my gear is damaged or stolen during the rental period?

The renter takes full responsibility for your gear during the rental period. If your gear is damaged or stolen, the renter is responsible the cost of repair, or has to reimburse you the time value of your gear. It is also possible that such damages are covered by the private liability insurance of the renter.

If the renter is still unable to pay for the damage, Gearrilla steps in – The Gearrilla Guarantee. Please see our General Rental Terms and Insurance Policy of www.gearrilla.com. We also reserve the right to take legal action against the respective renter.

What happens if the tenant had an accident with my gear and was injured?

Before lending your gear you have to make sure that the item has no safety-relevant defects. If you are not sure about the condition of your gear, please have it checked by an expert.

The renter is equally obliged to check the gear before using it. By doing that he assumes responsibility for your gear during the rental period and bears the full risk of its use. In cases of doubt, statutory provisions apply.

Can I cancel an order?

Yes, you as a lender have the right to cancel the order for rental of your gear using the corresponding option in your personal account; however, please bear in mind that a €15 cancellation charge will be applied. In case of a loss or sudden damage of your gear we ask you to inform us early so that we can help if necessary. Simply send us an e-mail to contact@gearrilla.com or contact us on our homepage.

Can the renter cancel his bookings?

Yes, the renter can cancel his booking by clicking on the corresponding booking which can be found in his account.

  • The renter can cancel his booking up to 28 days before the start date of the rental period and receive 75% of the total amount back. You as the lender receive the rest of the amount minus the Gearrilla service fee of 25%, including the statutory VAT.
  • If the renter cancels his booking within 28 days before the start date, you as a lender will receive the total amount minus the Gearrilla service fee of 25%, including the statutory VAT.
When will I get my money?

You will be paid monthly on the first day of each month for the outstanding balance on your account. Accounts need to be verified before the payout can be completed.
